A Poem By Shanze Khurram
This poem is to you.
To you who eats when you get lonely.
To you who sleeps because you are weary.
To you who cries because you are unhappy.
To you who stays at home because you are afraid.
To you who feels like you aren’t enough after looking in the mirror.
To you who has no idea where they are going in life.
To you who feels down after getting a bad grade.
To you who feels like you can’t open up to anyone.
To you who doesn’t feel strong.
To you who doesn’t love yourself.
I get it.
Life is overwhelming.
It’s hard to love other things when you don’t love yourself.
Fun hobbies turn into longing memories.
And friends turn into strangers.
I keep wishing for weekends.
And merely looking forward to special events.
I really don’t know what it feels like to live in the moment.
Even if you feel like your all alone, don’t throw yourself away.
There is no such thing as a perfect world.
It’s ok to not have answers.
It’s ok to not be strong.
It’s ok to do nothing at all.
It’s ok to be wrong.
It’s ok to take a nap.
It’s ok to cry in bed at night.
It’s ok to make a mistake.
It’s ok to be alone.
It’s ok to need a break.
Now close your eyes and please understand that you are still young.
And the universe is endless.
One day you will find yourself and proudly stand tall.
Have the courage to say
“It’s ok not to be ok.”
And then you will see your growth.
